-------------------------------
Southwest Interfaith provide individual assistance to seniors
in the southwest area of Interfaith of Milwaukee County.

----------------------------
You can help support and benefit from their efforts in many ways.
Below is the basic information from Southwest Interfaith's website:

What We Do:
The Southwest Interfaith Neighborhood Outreach office helps older adults in the neighborhood remain living in their own homes in a safe and dignified manner. By providing direct support to older adults, we help them stay closely connected to and engaged with their communities while leading active, independent lives.

The Southwest neighborhood site was founded in 1988, and since then, the number of congregations supporting its work has tripled. Located on the grounds of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Southwest office helps older adults living in the communities of Greendale, Greenfield, Hales Corners and Franklin. The site provides escorted transportation for 60 to 80 seniors each week who have no one else to help them, and as such, there is a great need for volunteer drivers on a “flexible, when you are available” basis.

Services for Older Adults:
Transportation for: Medical appointments, grocery shopping and errands
   Friendly in-home visits
   Paperwork/Application assistance
Minor home repairs and outdoor chores, such as lawn care and snow removal
Advocacy and information/referrals to help older adults identify needed resources
(Services offered are based on volunteer availability.)

Who is eligible?
Adults age 60 and up living in Milwaukee County are eligible for our free services. There are no income restrictions.

Volunteers Make the Difference.
We rely on the support of kindhearted volunteers to visit with older adults, provide transportation, shop, help read mail, fill out forms, rake leaves, shovel snow, make minor home repairs and help with other daily tasks, as well as lend a helping hand in the Neighborhood office. As a Neighborhood Outreach volunteer, you will be paired with an older adult whose needs match your schedule and interests, and who lives right in your own neighborhood. You can volunteer as often or as little as you wish.

We could use your help! Become a volunteer.
