It's summertime and time to start reminding
everyone about our annual Blood Drive.
The past few years have been hugely
successful and we would like to continue our record of providing blood to The
Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin for any person in Wisconsin who made
need to have blood or blood products.
There's no substitute for blood. If
people lose blood from surgery or injury or if their bodies can't produce
enough, there is only one place to turn... volunteer blood donors.
Most of us may know someone who has
needed blood for one reason or another.
Ask them about their experience in receiving blood and they will tell you how thankful and grateful they were that blood was so readily available to meet their emergent need. It may have been due to cancer treatment, heart surgery or heart and blood vessel disease, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract or kidney disease, and of course emergencies such as car accidents or burns.
EVERY 3 SECONDS
SOMEONE NEEDS BLOOD
Your one donation can save three
lives.
Just to meet demand, The Blood Center
needs to see over 800 donors a day, 6 days a week.
Last year we were scheduled for 35
donors during our blood drive and we met that quota. Let's do it again. In
July, members of the Health and Wellness committee will be approaching everyone
and asking if you will be a donor.
Please sign up to give when asked.
This year there will also be the
opportunity to sign up on line if you wish to. The donation process is fairly
quick, the personnel are pleasant and efficient, and of course you get a chance
to snack on the home baked goodies made by members of our congregation.
Please consider this donation as your
“gift of life” to someone you will never meet.
If you have any questions about donating
blood, please feel free to ask me or to call the Blood Center for more
information.
